We bring Colin's PJ's downstairs, along with a new diaper and some lotion (for his eczema). We ask him if he wants to put on his PJ's and usually get responded with "nope" - yes, he's too good for a simple "no", he's moved on to "nope" now. We say "please?"... yet again, "nope". This goes on for about 5-10min until he finally decides to cooperate and we get him ready for bed.
After the PJ's are on, we move into the kitchen to get his sippy cup of milk. He feels he's old enough now to help pour the milk. So we sit on the floor together and he helps me pour the milk into his cup. He'll take his cup and drink some of it and then we move upstairs. We brush his teeth and head into his bedroom and pick out a book to read. Scott and I usually rotate who puts him down for bed, although lately it's more Scott than me, since he usually gets home late and it's his only time to spend with Colin for the day.
So last night we went through the bedtime drill and Scott decides to put him down. Colin just cuddled right up to his Daddy, who seems to be his favorite person right now. I just stood there looking at the two of them. All was right with the world at that moment. Colin had his Daddy, Daddy had his little man, and they were both just smiling at each other and at me. It was just one of those moments where I realize just how good I have it. I couldn't ask for 2 more beautiful guys in my life (although I'm about to add 1 more beautiful little man to our family in 4 short months). I am so lucky!!!!!!
