The night my childhood dream came true

As a young girl, I found my first "love". His name? Joey McIntyre. Yep, Joey from NKOTB (New Kids on the Block). I had posters of him splashed all over my walls and closet. Not to mention a life sized silk poster of him on my door. In my mind, he was it - the one for me. So many girls can relate because we've all been there. Fantasized about meeting that one celebrity and what it would be like to marry them. For me, Joey was it. I saw them in concert 3 times and I remember thinking "if only I could meet him after the show..." But back then, that was near impossible. Us crazy teenage girls were out of control for the boys of NKOTB.

Fast-forward approx 18 years.... Dancing with the Stars. I love this show. For that reason, I bought tickets to the tour, I couldn't resist - it had Drew Lachey, Joey Lawrence and the one and only Joey McIntyre starring in it! So this past Saturday I went, along with my friend Rebecca, my Mom & my aunt. During the show, we noticed a sign advertising Joey's new CD. Attached to that sign was a note saying Joey would sign autographs after the show!!!!! It was a no-brainer - we were staying so we could meet Joey. The show ended and off we went to get in line. My Mom even went ahead of us to get in line quicker since my PG-ass can only move so fast. About an hour later there we were, in front of my first "love", Joey. I asked to take a pic with him, which he agrees to because he's so incredibly nice, and Rebecca's camera doesn't work. She tries for a second time, still no luck. I'm obviously panicking at this point because I need that picture!!! And you know what Joey does?!?!? He asks for the camera and fixes it for us!!! So I got my picture, Rebecca got hers and we were all smiles for the rest of the night (and weekend for that matter LOL).

Now of course I have to mention that yes, I got all tongue-tied when I met him. Other than asking for a picture and thanking him for fixing the camera, no other words were spoken by me. I could've at least told him he did a great job that night (not only did he dance, he also sang!!!!). Or I could've told him the obvious - that he was my baby's daddy ;-)

For that night, I got to live my childhood dream, and it was so much fun! I may not be the true Joey-crazed fan from before, but I think he appreciated that LOL Had I met him 18yrs ago, I would've been the annoying screaming & crying teeny-bopper that probably drove him nuts! Anyways, here's a picture of Joey - I had to cut myself out of it because at 22wks PG, I look HUGE and just well, not attractive!
