We've been busy, busy, busy!

We're finally back to our boring old life down here - this past 1.5wks has been filled with visitors and traveling.

Two Saturday's ago (the 17th, I think?) we headed down to Austin. Amy and her family were there visiting family, so we decided to take a little trip to see them. I cannot even begin to tell you how much it meant to see Amy - I miss her! We went to a fun kids place for Colin to run around like a maniac with Scott, while Amy and I hung out and talked with our babies. Afterwards, we went to the mall to grab some dinner. Colin ended up with a bloody lip :( That of course happened at the mall... not at the kid place, which seems a bit backwards LOL But he was okay, only cried a little and then we got him some ice cream which I'm sure helped him feel better ;) I didn't really take any pics, but Amy did. I'm a slacker and haven't gotten them from her to post on here though. I do have one pic of Scott & Colin playing in the lava pit they had:

We came back from Austin on Sunday and then my Mom flew in for the week on Monday. It was great to have her around to play with the kids and help out around here. We didn't do anything too exciting, just went to the park, a couple malls, and of course I had to show her Super Target, which is my home away from home ;) Her last night here was last Thursday and we took the kids to Rainforest Cafe. Colin was in awe of the fake animals, and the fish tanks were a HUGE hit. He wasn't too crazy when the animals would move & make noise, and their fake thunderstorms also made him a bit nervous. But yet out front they had a fake alligator that he was in love with. He did not want to leave the alligator for a second. Here's a couple pics from my Mom's visit.

My Mom left late Friday afternoon and then Saturday we packed up and headed to Louisiana to visit with Scott's parents for the night - his aunt & uncle were in town visiting too. Colin got to go fishing for the first time while Jackson got spoiled by Grandma & Aunt JoJo. Here's a couple pics from that trip.

And finally I'll end with a video. This was taken while my Mom was here. It was getting close to Jackson's bedtime and I like to strip him down w/o a diaper so he can air out for a bit every night. Colin had a balloon and Jackson was having a blast getting hit in the face with it. I felt kind of guilty letting Colin hit him like that, but Jackson seemed to be having fun, so I just let them go and have some fun! And try to excuse my Mom's laughing in the background ;)

Happy Valentine's Day!

It was an impromtu photo shoot this morning and this was the best we could do ;) Jackson wanted to get his hands on the sign, Colin didn't want to let him, they were both a little impatient, but in the end you can read the sign and they're both in the pic, so I consider it a success LOL

Here's a couple "out takes":

Can you tell they're brothers??? ;)

Ahhhh, finally got my hands on it!

Hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day!

I was tagged...

Apparently I've been tagged by my cyber-friend, Carrie.

The rules:
1) Link to the person who tagged you.
2) Post the rules.
3) Share six non-important things / habits / quirks about yourself.
4) Tag at least three people.
5) Make sure the people you tagged.

So here are my 6 non-important things / habits / quirks about myself....

1) I have food issues - I have to eat certain candy by color (Skittles, M&M's, etc), I eat the cheese off my pizza first, then I'll eat the dough - I could list more, but I'll spare myself the embarrassment.

2) I naturally have curly hair, but I straighten it everyday because I hate how it looks when it's curly.

3) I played basketball when I was younger, but then my 9th grade coach slapped me across my face twice (I was the point guard and wasn't calling the plays correctly... or something), thus ending any fun in basketball for me. I quit, started playing tennis, and made the All-County team :)

4) I'm on Weight Watchers right now and I'll stash up my points so I can veg with yummy snacks in front of the TV after the kids go to bed (and I've lost 6lbs in the last 2wks!).

5) I am obsessed with Guitar Hero on our Wii. The.best.game.ever.

6) When I was around 9-10yrs old, my cousin and I would put on pretend dance recitals at family parties.

I tag - Amy , Rebecca, and Laura .

9 month stats & pics

Jackson had his 9 month appt at our new Pediatrician's office here in Texas (which I loved!!!). This guy is much bigger than his brother was at 9 months! Here's his stats:

Weight: 24lbs 2oz (Colin was 22lbs 7oz at 9 mos and wasn't 24lbs until he was a year old LOL)
Height: 29.5in (Colin was 30in at 9 mos)

It's funny to me that his weight is more than Colin's was at this age, because he eats less than Colin ever did. But either way, he's one super cute, chubby baby!

Yesterday we went for his professional pics, which he wasn't all that excited for. We got there about 15min early because I was going to feed him his bottle first, but they were running ahead of schedule and brought us right in. I guess he was hungry because my usual non-stop smiley baby turned into Mr. Serious for his pics. We still got some decent ones though. Here's a couple of them...

And Colin had to sneak into a picture - he wasn't too thrilled with his little brother getting all the attention ;)

Hope you enjoyed!

9 months old and our trip to the bounce house

Jackson sure is on the move! He's not crawling in the traditional sense, but this kid can definitely get around. He rolls, he scoots, he rolls some more, until he's finally where he wants to be.... and then 10sec later he decides he wants to be somewhere else LOL I'm hoping to take him for his 9 month professional pics on Thursday, but here's Jackson on his 9 month "birthday" that I took on Saturday:

This is the first picture where his top teeth are visible! I know I'm biased, but he sure is awfully cute!

Colin has been testing me a bit lately. Anything I ask him to do, he'll respond with "no, you do it". Love those 2yr olds ;) Despite that, he's doing amazing with potty training. I'm scared to say it, in case I'll jinx it, but he's fully trained - day AND night now. He's stayed dry during naps & bedtime for about 4-5 days now, I think. And today I let him take his nap in undies when he asked to. It still astounds me that it was so easy. I'm dreading doing this with Jackson because no way can I get 2 kids potty trained this easily LOL Anyways... although Colin likes to test me, he is tons of fun. Always on the move and so interested in knowing what's going on and wanting everything explained to him. Then he'll repeat it just to make sure he has everything right. All weekend he kept saying "Daddy in Phoenix, Mommy. Phoenix is far, far away from here." So cute! Here's a pic of him at the bounce house this past weekend:

I still can't believe he wasn't scared to climb up this high. He went on this one about a million times!

Here's a video of him playing on the slide:

Here's how Jackson spent his time at the bounce house -and yes, I cleaned the toys before giving them to him since I knew what he'd do with them ;)

That's all for today!
