Quick update

I had my last OB appt today and one final ultrasound. Our "little" man is already weighing in at 10lbs 8oz, so he's giving his big brother some competition! Our c-section is still scheduled for next Wednesday, May 2nd. I don't think Colin has a clue of what's in store for him, but we're really hoping that him and Jackson grow up to be best of friends.

This weekend we'll be busy. Saturday my parents are coming for a visit. It's their anniversary and they're taking the 3 of us out to dinner for it :) Plus my Mom might do some last minute "pre-baby" cleaning for me, which will be appreciated greatly!

Sunday is Colin's 2nd birthday! Seriously, where did time go? We're having a party for him with Scott's family - we already celebrated with my family a couple weeks ago. All day yesterday he was walking around saying "birthday cake, birthday cake", so I guess he's ready for a party LOL What I will say though is that he sure doesn't need that sugar! Here's a quick little video of our active little guy. If you listen, you can hear the Bunny Hop music in the background (an Easter gift from my inlaws) and him running around in circles is how he "dances" ;)

From cute..... to rock star

Sometimes I wonder how anything that looks this sweet and innocent could turn on you with the drop of a hat LOL

And then I see him looking like this and it explains a lot:

And a profile pic to do the hair some justice:

Do you think I should worry about what they're doing at the babysitters house when he comes home looking like this? ;)

8 days and counting...

Sorry I've been MIA! I'm learning that even though we just had Colin 2yrs ago, there's still a lot to get ready before Jackson's arrival. I think as of this past weekend, we are officially ready for him to join the family. Well, aside from me becoming a nervous wreck at the thought of having a toddler and a newborn to take care of, but I know somehow I'll manage.

The end of this pregnancy is getting rough. I'm growing another huge baby, so it's taking a toll on my body and am having excrutiating groin pain that my OB says I just have to "deal with" until delivery. Not fun! And the hormones are going crazy. Yesterday I cried when Colin threw a tantrum, and then I cried again because I woke up around 1:30am and Scott wasn't in bed yet (in his defense, he was dealing with a huge issue at work, so he had good reason). Basically neither situation were worthy of crying, but I couldn't help it. I think I'm ready to be done with this phase LOL

We've had 1 false labor so far. Well, technically 2, but the first time I was in pain and didn't think I was in labor, I just knew something was wrong (turned out I had an infection causing my uterus to contract and not be able to relax, plus I was dehydrated). The 2nd trip to Labor & Delivery I was having contractions. They were consistently 3-4min apart for 1.5hrs when we finally decided to head into the hospital. By the time we got there, they were only 2 min apart, and by the end they were less than a minute apart. The problem? They weren't very strong and had no effect on my cervix. So I was sent home and sure enough, they went away. I was only 35wks, but because that was probably my only chance for a vbac, I was kind of bummed. I guess Jackson really wanted some extra time to bake ;)

So here I sit at 37wks and doing fine, other than the groin pain. I haven't really had much activity as far as labor signs since the last trip to the hospital, so I'm 99.9% sure I'll make it to my c-section day, May 2nd. And honestly, I think May 2nd is a perfect day for a birthday!

Sorry no pics on this post, I'm getting lazy with downloading, along with everything else LOL

4 weeks to go! Also, pic overload included....

So I've been slacking a bit... okay A LOT! But in my defense, there's been a lot going on. The end of my pregnancy is tiring me out, plus keeping my house ready for showings and having Colin to take care of keeps me on my toes. Anyways....

In pregnancy news, I'm just over 34wks along and hanging in there. I had an eventful start of the week when Monday I woke up with contractions - painful contractions. My mother-in-law came over to help with Colin while I figured out if I should go to my scheduled Dr appt that morning or head to the hospital. My OB's office said to head to the hospital, so off we went. Turned out that I have an infection and was dehydrated, both contributing to me having contractions. So I got put on some antibiotics and drank lots of juice & water and was sent home. With Scott being out of town, my in laws insisted that Colin and me stay at their house - after that little incident they didn't want me home alone. So basically aside from going to work, I've been hanging out with my inlaws all week, and fortunately for me I have awesome inlaws and I don't mind being at their house one bit! Scott will be home Friday and then he's done traveling until after the baby arrives. And speaking of the baby - we finally finalized a name - Jackson Thomas. I think it sounds pretty good! And lots of thanks to Amy who helped pick out the perfect middle name ;) 4 weeks from today we'll be meeting him and it cannot come soon enough - I'm dying to see what he looks like! I'm constantly wondering if he'll look just like his big brother and Mommy, or if Daddy will see some of his genes in one of his sons for a change!
In Colin news - we're getting ready for his 2nd birthday. I can't believe it's here already! We'll be celebrating it with my family on Easter and then with Scott's family on his real birthday (the 29th). Colin has been amazing us every day lately - his vocabulary is getting so good and he can put together some pretty good sentences too. Lately we're focusing on counting and learning his ABC's - oh, and singing Baa, Baa, Black Sheep too ;) We set up his toddler bed a couple weeks ago and he's slept in it a few times, but wakes up during the night and wants in his crib. We're trying to figure out the right way to approach the whole transition process - it's not easy! And since it's been awhile, here's a bunch of pics from the past month of Colin....

Enjoying the warm, sunny day:

Sleeping in his toddler bed for the first time - it's not a very good pic because I was paranoid to go into his room and wake him up, so I held the camera in and snapped the pic quickly:

This past weekend, we took Colin to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny. He was so fascinated with the Easter Bunny, he wouldn't take his eyes off him the entire time we ate breakfast and met him in person LOL But he wasn't scared and even said "Hi" and "Bye bye" to him when we left!

And last, just a cute smiley pic:

And I'm including a short clip of Colin in action. You can hear him say "cheese" when he sees the camera - apparently he knows the drill when the camera comes out!
